Shakin’ Up Our Summer

I made a quick trip to Bed, Bath and Beyond with my coupons in tow planning to pick up an AS SEEN ON TV product. I always manage to find myself at clearance sections during rare trips to stores. Aaron and I have been wanting to try out a Topsy Turvy Tomato planter (ha, another as seen on tv product mentioned just now) for the heck of it. But we decided to wait until we move to CO so we don’t have to worry about figuring out how to fit another dang thing into a moving truck. Lo and behold, I find myself at the cash register with a Salsa Garden. I figured why not? For only $3 bucks and it’s as tiny as can be for planting two veggies and a herb: Cayenne Peppers, Tomatoes and Cilantro. Of course eventually we’ll have to transplant it, but I figure if we don’t fall in love with either of the veggies or the cilantro, I can always give it away to my lovely co-workers.

Costa Rica

Our honeymoon took place in Costa Rica. We were very fortunate to find a great travel agent through a surfing website as I wanted Aaron to be able to surf some while we were on a real vacation. Our travel agent found us great places to stay that were non-resort type hotels which is what I wanted to avoid in the first place. Our first leg of the trip was spent in La Fortuna where the Arenal Volcano was. We treated ourselves to an outside couples massage and the hot springs were awesome! Then we drove approximately 4 hours to Tamarindo Bay where we stayed at Hotel Capitan Suizo. Here, we spent a good amount of time on the beach, in the ocean and pool. Then the last day we drove back to Ajuela which is near San José and stayed in Hotel Margarita for one night and had a taxi driver pick us up early in the morning for our flight out. I really could be more descriptive, but it would take pages and pages for me to write out! 🙂 So, here are some pictures:

(I’m going to have to upload all of them to a photo website where people can see all the photos we took since I’m only posting  a few here. I’ll let you all know when they are all uploaded somewhere.) -MB

Adventures in Life

Well, well… Here we are about to start our first blog as we are in the midst of preparing for our cross country move. I think we got jinxed because we were crossing our fingers, toes and eyes hoping to move back to the East coast to be closer to family and friends, yet we’re moving to the West side of the USA. I think I’m going to start wishing for things differently. As you can see, we created this website so we could try to be better about keeping all our loved ones in the loop. We’ll blog about some fun adventures we take along our journey in life as well as including some Cued Speech here and there since you all know we are passionate about giving back to the community when we can. – MB

So MB wants me to write about the wedding day. Eh. It was ok. I didn’t have that much fun. Just kidding. It was a wonderful day with family and friends. The day went by so fast. It’s apparent everyone’s had fun at the wedding judging from the massive amounts of images posted on facebook and the number of people tagged in those photo albums. Now the wedding is over and the honeymoon just a set of memories fresh in our mind. MB and I are focused on the finish line, which is located somewhere in Denver. We’re still hunting for a place to live. Seems like there’s many options, but living with MB I know I have a challenge ahead of me doing some preview shopping by myself as I stake claims before MB arrives a few weeks behind me. Once I arrive in Denver the biggest chores include home hunting and rebuilding the d/hoh program at Crawford Elementary. In the short-term I’ll be spending time in DC preparing for CLEAR, which takes place August 7-8. Yet more miles for me… Can’t wait for MB and I to finally get settled in and enjoy the life that is Colorado. – AVR
